AMDA Announces Name Change

During PALTC24, AMDA’s annual conference, the House of Delegates voted unanimously to change the organization's name to the Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medical Association (PALTMed). This name is inclusive and representative of all clinicians working in PALTC.

What started as a small group of nursing home medical directors in 1977 under the leadership of Drs. Dodd and Pattee has grown into an entire field of medicine that includes medical directors, attending physicians, nurse practitioners, physician associates, consultant pharmacists, and doctorally prepared clinicians. This interdisciplinary team of clinicians deserves an inclusive professional association that supports its diverse membership, responds to its interests, establishes practice standards, and encourages professional advancement for all.

The name change is the first step of a much larger rebranding and membership expansion campaign to transform the organization. The Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medical Association stands ready to be our staunch advocate and champion. Please feel free to share any questions or concerns with the board via email, [email protected].
