CALTCM Committee Opportunity

All CALTCM members are invited and encouraged to join one or more CALTCM Committees!

Clinical Practice: This committee will monitor best practices and guidelines relevant to the organization and the post-acute and long term care settings; this may include adapting general guidelines to the geriatric population following various national initiatives.  Committee will also act as a resource to the Education Committee – reviewing and approving presentations for our conferences and suggesting hot topics.

Development:  The Development Committee closely works on a series of fund-raising efforts to fund and sponsor various components of the annual meeting (e.g. exhibit opportunities), as well as solicit support for the day-to-day operations of CALTCM.  It also identifies potential grant support and grant-lead opportunities for CALTCM.

Education:  This Committee plans and develops the CALTCM Annual Meeting.  It is the duty of this Committee to plan the program content, speakers, and activities in accordance with CME guidelines as set forth by California Medical Association (CMA)/ Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). This Committee also is responsible for evaluating and approving CME credit for other programs that are submitted for consideration to CALTCM as a CME provider.

Marketing & Membership:  This Committee identifies and devises plans for membership recruitment and retention, and for developing and refining marketing tools. This Committee works closely with the Education Committee for marketing the Annual Meeting.

Policy & Professional Services: This Committee will monitor state and federal policies that could impact the organization, post-acute and long term care practitioners and organizations, and/or patients; the committee will report to the BOD and provide recommendations on potential actions. This committee will also work with other committees and the BOD to develop initiatives to be brought forward to the AMDA House of Delegates.

Wave Committee:  This committee is responsible for producing our e-newsletter, the CALTCM WAVE.  This committee is responsible for identifying articles of interest, writing articles and securing writers.

Wellness Committee: This committee will plan wellness activities throughout the year, be a resource to the Education committee for wellness activities in educational events, and contribute wellness based articles to the CALTCM Wave.
