Research Project: Harvard School of Public Health

Dear CALTCM Medical Director Colleagues,

Our friends at the Harvard School of Public Health are looking for a few medical directors to interview for a published paper they are working on, about medical directors' experiences during the pandemic. There's a $100 honorarium. If you are interested in contributing to this important project, please contact Dr. Gillian SteelFisher directly at the e-mail below.

Thanks!

Karl Steinberg, MD, CMD, HMDC, HEC-C
Past President, CALTCM & AMDA

Dear Colleagues,

I’m writing to ask for assistance with an important research project. I collaborate with a research group at Harvard University that is developing a survey about the use of telemedicine in SNFs. The survey results will help guide policy for care in SNFs going forward.

The Harvard team wants to speak directly with medical directors about their experiences during COVID to understand the situation on the ground more fully. They are asking if you would be willing to talk with them - informally and confidentially - for 45 minutes or an hour when it's convenient for you. The researchers want to learn about the experiences that encouraged your organization to adopt telemedicine, and -- equally importantly -- why telemedicine may not be used as often now.

As a token of appreciation, the research team will provide $100 to medical directors who participate in this development stage of the project.

If you would be willing to help this important study, please contact Gillian SteelFisher, PhD, MSc, Principal Research Scientist at the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health - [email protected].

Hi Dr. Steinberg, It may be a tad off focus but I'd be happy to give feedback about telehealth at a SNF from the viewpoint of a consumer. Melody Taylor Stark
