Membership Perks: Why being a CALTCM member is worthwhile!
CALTCM has had a busy 2019, Summer is near and the Leadership and Management in Geriatrics (LMG) course and the Fall Conference will be upon us in no time at all. We would like to give you a quick update on our current programs and an update on two membership benefits you will not want to overlook – if you are not a member yet, take a few moments and join CALTCM today to be eligible for these opportunities.
CALTCM is proud to confirm the successful launch of the CALTCM Mentorship Program! In May 2019, CALTCM hosted two successful webinars for participants of the program. The first webinar was targeted to our mentors, giving them the opportunity to sharpen their mentor skills – this was an outstanding webinar hosted by Ron Cohn, Ed.D. The second webinar, also hosted by Dr. Cohn, was specific to our participating mentees who received an overview of a proper mentee-mentor relationship – a great springboard for all our mentees. Mentees have been successfully paired and we are excited as they begin their journey. Members who are interested in participating in the CALTCM Mentorship Program should submit their interest to the CALTCM office for consideration – additional mentor opportunities may still exist.
We would like to extend our appreciation to the Education committee for all their time and effort in creating a high quality program, the 2019 CALTCM Summit for Excellence.

Our annual meeting speakers presented on hot topics in post-acute and long-term care, the event also gave learners the opportunity to customize their learning with the “In The Trenches Sessions”. Several of these topics will be carried over into our Fall Summit on Saturday October 19th at the UC Davis campus in Sacramento – mark your calendars now.
An important CALTCM membership benefit includes the opportunity to access the full syllabus from the annual meeting – the syllabus is posted on the members only landing page of the CALTCM website (members must be logged in to access). The 2019 CALTCM Summit for Excellence syllabus is provided in an effort to improve the quality of care in post-acute and long-term care.
We hope that review of the syllabus will also encourage you to participate in future events, the opportunity to network and learn from the thought leaders in post-acute and long-term care at our live events cannot be captured on paper. In closing, please join us in welcoming Michelle Eslami, MD, CMD, our incoming Education Committee Chair. We look forward to seeing you at LMG and our 2019 Fall Summit (registration is open for both events).
