Seeking Skilled Nursing Facilities for Training Scholarship

CALTCM is offering a unique opportunity for skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) to strengthen their leadership teams through our Leadership and Management in Geriatrics course. CALTCM is seeking 2-3 nursing homes who are interested in receiving a training scholarship to participate in this high-impact program.

Effective leadership in skilled nursing facilities is a critical factor in delivering high-quality care, improving clinical outcomes, and fostering a positive workplace culture. Strong leadership can:

  • Enhance patient safety and reduce avoidable hospitalizations
  • Improve staff retention and satisfaction
  • Strengthen communication across interdisciplinary teams
  • Drive regulatory compliance and quality improvement initiatives

By investing in leadership development, nursing homes can ensure sustainability and excellence in care delivery, even in the face of workforce challenges and evolving healthcare regulations.

The Leadership and Management in Geriatrics Course is being presented virtually on May 15-17, this course is designed to provide long-term care professionals with practical skills and strategies to lead effectively in a post-acute and long-term care (PALTC) setting.

Learning Objectives:

  • Apply leadership and management principles to medical practice to enhance patient care, team collaboration, and/or system efficiency.
  • Build conflict resolution and emotional intelligence skills to improve interactions with other leaders, stakeholders, and staff.
  • Enhance collaborative problem-solving skills by applying strategies/approaches to effectively engage teams in the spirit of effective issue resolution.

Describe and apply key elements of business/organizational theory to medical practice.
Create and implement an action plan to address a relevant leadership or management issue.
