CALTCM President-Elect Dr. Noah Marco Honored by Caring for the Ages
CALTCM congratulates our own Dr. Noah Marco for his essay, “My Complaint about the Chief Complaint,” which received the runner-up award in a contest for best essay submitted to Caring for the Ages, the newsmagazine of the Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medical Association (PALTmed). Dr. Marco’s column appears in the current March-April issue of Caring, which is always available to PALTmed members and non-members alike, without a paywall, at www.caringfortheages.com. Dr. Marco’s award-winning essay appears on page 14 of this issue, and can be found via this link: https://www.caringfortheages.com/article/S1526-4114(25)00017-4/pdf
As former editor-in-chief of Caring, I have the privilege of continuing to serve as editor emeritus and an active member of the Editorial Advisory Board. This is one periodical I read cover-to-cover virtually every issue. I also am honored to host the regular podcast for Caring, originally called Caring-on-the-Go but now renamed PALTtalk with Caring. Our podcast for the March-April issue can be found at this link, and I encourage those of you who enjoy Caring on a regular basis to dig a little deeper by downloading and listening to our podcasts: https://www.podbean.com/site/EpisodeDownload/PB1827347K5UDA
For WAVE readers who like more academic post-acute and long-term care research updates, I also host the podcast for PALTmed’s scholarly journal, JAMDA (the Journal of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine, still officially called the Journal of the American Medical Directors Association). On this podcast, recently rebranded as PALTtalk with JAMDA, I discuss a few key articles from the current issue of JAMDA with one or both of the editors-in-chief, Paul Katz and Barbara Resnick, and usually one or more authors of the studies we discuss. That podcast, along with the rest of the PALTtalk podcast series (which includes general, clinical, and policy-related PALTC topics), can be found here: https://palttalk.podbean.com/
Congratulations again to Dr. Marco, who has become quite an eclectic and prolific contributor to a variety of publications and websites. His perspective is profound and valuable. See below for links to some of Noah’s other writings.
